Through the years of firefighting the equipment of firefighters has changed drastically. In New York City the original firefighter (volunteers themselves) actually pulled their pumpers themselves, and actually fought the change to horses. The orginal firefighters in Philidelphia didnt have helmets but had specialized fabric top hats to distinguish them from the normal public. Today thankfully the equipement has become much more advanced helping us protect the McKownville community during all different types of emergencies.
